Marcus Scott | Playwright

Marcus Scott (he/him/his) is a dramatist & journalist. Full-length works include Tumbleweed (finalist: 2017 BAPF & the 2017 Festival of New American Plays at Austin Playhouse; semifinalist: 2022 O’Neill NPC, 2022 Blue Ink Playwriting Award & 2017 New Dramatists Princess Grace Fellowship Award), Sibling Rivalries (finalist: 2021 Seven Devils Playwrights Conference & 2021 ATHE-KCACTF Judith Royer Excellence In Playwriting Award; semi-finalist: 2022 Lanford Wilson New American Play Festival, 2021 Blue Ink Playwriting Award & 2021 New Dramatists Princess Grace Fellowship Award; long-listed: 2020 Theatre503 International Playwriting Award), There Goes The Neighborhood (finalist: 2023 Blue Ink Playwriting Award, the 2019 Bushwick Starr Reading Series; semifinalist: 2023 BAPF) and Cherry Bomb (recipient: 2017 Drama League First Stage Artist-In-Residence; 2017 New York Theatre Barn's New Works Series). Heartbeat Opera commissioned Scott to adapt Beethoven’s “Fidelio” (Co-writer; The Met Museum; NYT Critic’s Pick). Scott is the recipient of the WTP Rosalind Ayres-Williams Memorial Scholarship (2022-2024) and member of the Gingold Theatrical Group Speakers' Corner Writers Group (Phase 3, 2020-present). His one-act "Sundown Town" was published in Obsidian: Literature and Arts of the African Diaspora: Issue: 48.1 (May 2023). Scott is a 2021 NYSAF Founders’ Award finalist, a 2021 Doric Wilson Independent Playwright Award semi-finalist, a 2019 finalist for the Bushwick Starr's Starr Reading Series, a four-time National Black Theatre I AM SOUL Playwrights Residency finalist and a four-time top finalist for the R&D Group at The Civilians. His articles appeared in Architectural Digest, Time Out New York, American Theatre Magazine, Playbill, Elle, Out, Essence, The Brooklyn Rail, among others. Dev Bondarin | Director

Dev Bondarin is a theater director and Associate Artistic Director of Prospect Theater Company where she directs an annual musical theater lab which has, to date, premiered over 100 short musicals. Dev was Artistic Director of Astoria Performing Arts Center where she directed the NY premiere of Marguerite (with Tony Award-winner Cady Huffman), and revivals of Merrily We Roll Along and Raisin (which both earned NY Innovative Theatre Awards for Outstanding Musical), Caroline, or Change (AUDELCO Award for Outstanding Musical Revival) and Follies (NYIT Award for Outstanding Ensemble). Other directing: King Lear (American Bard), A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, Little Women (Festival 56), tours with TheaterWorksUSA, and readings and workshops of new plays and musicals with, The York Theatre, Gingold Theatrical Group, and Queens Theatre among others. Dev has been nominated for two AUDELCO Awards and an NYIT Award for directing, and received an Alumni of the Year Award from the Theater Department at Brooklyn College, where she earned her MFA. Phillip Gregory Burke

Phillip Gregory Burke, is a New York City artivist, actor and playwright from Auburn, NY. He was inducted into the Auburn Alumni Hall of Distinction in May 2023.Commercials: NFL/CBS Sports’ Thursday Night Football’s “A Girl Named Raven,” directed by 36-time Emmy winner Pete Radovich. His writing chronicles the sociology of the African Diaspora and illuminates the intricate intersections of Blackness and queerness throughout history. His play, He’s The First, is the inaugural winner of the Improbable Fiction New Works Series, Diverse Perspectives Award, at The Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival, where it will have a workshop production, in July 2023. The ten-minute version was filmed for All Arts & PBS, (available to stream summer 2023) and is a top 30 finalist out of 850 submissions, for The 48thAnnual Samuel French Off-Off Broadway Festival, in August 2023. It is a 2023 Semi-finalist for The Obsidian Theater Festival and will have a reading with Blackboard Reading Series, in fall 2023. In June 2023, he produced a developmental reading of his play with music, I’m The First. His entire body of work and life, is dedicated to the memory of the legendary Miss Dame Sally Ann Jones, who made his entire existence possible.

Shavanna Calder

Clothed in Tell Me Everything You Know (GLUTTONY) - is a performer, anti-racist consultant, writer, creative director, stylist, human. Broderick Clavery

“After an incredible ride in Season 14 of The Fire This Time Festival, Broderick Clavery is excited to continue 2023 with some vital Black-Queer storytelling! Moonlighting as an SEL educator throughout the five boroughs of NYC, his heart is always in art. Recent credits include: "MC Plátano" in QuarterRican (Pregones Theater) "Letter Writer 1" in "Tiny Beautiful Things" (Theatre Squared), "Nol" in "Shakespeare in Love" (Theatre Squared), Dez in "Skeleton Crew" (Theatre Squared), Cedric/Voldy & Oliver (U/S) Puffs (New World Stages), Vince in What (Black Lady Theater), Jason LaSalle in Red (First Person Xperience), and various roles in MTA Radio Plays (Rattlestick Playwrights Theater).

Hillary Fisher

Hillary Fisher is an Actor, Director, Model, and Musician who is passionate about moving society forward through storytelling and wellness. She is a graduate of Pace University and LaGuardia High School. Anthony T. Goss

Anthony T. Goss is an artist from Boston, Ma. He has worked the boards in numerous plays in New York City. Most recently he appeared in the Actors Shakespeare Projects production of 'Seven Guitars' , winning an Elliot Norton Award for best lead Actor. A frequent Collaborator with the work of Marcus Scott, he is excited to be a part of this production of Sibling Rivalries.

Reynaldo Piniella

Reynaldo Piniella was an Incubation Series playwright with Egg & Spoon in 2021 with his play Black Doves. As an actor, he's been seen on Broadway in Trouble in Mind, Off-Broadway at Signature Theatre Company, the Public, the Working Theater, TFANA and Rattlestick, regionally with Baltimore Center Stage, Syracuse Stage, Long Wharf, the O'Neill, Cleveland Playhouse, NY Stage & Film, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, St. Louis Shakespeare Festival and Actors Theatre of Louisville and internationally with the Sundance Theatre Lab in Morocco.
